tentativa de agotar una calle parisina
this project is part of a collaborative series of three topographic installations under the name plan de parís. this series uses personal diaries, archives, and collections to create alternative maps of paris that follow a personal topography and have no practical usefulness.
the series is formed by j'aime mon quartier, je ramasse and topografía anecdótica de parís. the third topography in this project, tentativa de agotar una calle parisina (an attempt at exhausting a place in paris), is based and named after georges perec's short book (1974) in which, sitting at a parisian café, he aims to describe all the things he sees and that usually pass unnoticed.
tentativa... is an “artisanal geolocation” that attempts to exhaust a parisian street through 600 photos that belong to personal albums and those of friends. the street is represented through a seven meter red line and horizontal lines are formed by photographs taken at a specific address on each side of the street.
